The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released another important public notice regarding CUET PG 2026 registration, and this update is extremely important for all students planning to appear in the exam. Many candidates were facing serious problems during form filling, especially related to payment failure and confirmation page download issues. Keeping these issues in mind, NTA has once again extended the registration and fee payment dates.
In this blog, we will explain the latest CUET PG 2026 extension notice, the new important dates, the reason behind the extension, and what students should do next. The language is kept simple and clear, so every student can easily understand.
NTA Extended the CUET PG 2026 Registration Date?
Earlier, the CUET PG 2026 application form was supposed to close on 14 January 2026. However, many students waited until the last day to fill the form. During this time, a major issue occurred:
- Students paid the examination fee
- Money was deducted from the bank
- But the confirmation page was not generated or downloaded
Because of this, students were confused whether their form was successfully submitted or not. Many students emailed NTA, but not everyone received a reply. Due to these repeated complaints and representations from candidates, NTA decided to extend the registration date.
CUET PG 2026: First Extension (14 Jan to 20 Jan)
Initially, NTA extended the last date from 14 January to 20 January 2026. An advisory was also issued earlier, warning students not to wait for the last day. Still, payment-related problems continued even till 20 January.
CUET PG 2026: Second Extension (Latest Update)
On 20 January 2026, NTA released a new public notice confirming another extension.
According to the official notice, NTA received multiple requests from candidates to further extend the last date of the online application form. Considering this, NTA announced a fresh extension.
New Important Dates for CUET PG 2026 (Official)
Here are the latest and final dates you must remember:
1. Last Date to Submit Application Form
- 23 January 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)
Students can now complete and submit the CUET PG 2026 application form until this date and time.
2. Last Date for Examination Fee Payment
- 25 January 2026 (up to 11:50 PM)
This is a major change. Earlier, application form submission and fee payment had the same deadline.
Now, NTA has given 2 extra days (24 & 25 January) only for fee payment. This step was taken mainly to solve the payment failure issues.
3. Correction Window Dates
- 28 January to 30 January 2026
If you make any mistake while filling the form, you will get 3 full days to correct it. This includes personal details, exam details, and other editable fields (as allowed by NTA).
Why This Extension Is Very Important?
This is now the third chance given by NTA.
- First deadline: 14 January
- First extension: 20 January
- Second extension: 23 January (final)
Along with this, the fee payment date is also extended separately, which clearly shows that NTA wants students to complete the process properly without stress.
After this, another extension is highly unlikely.
What If Payment Still Gets Stuck?
If your payment is still deducted but confirmation page is not generated, you should immediately contact NTA:
- Email:Â cuet-pg@nta.in
Always attach:
- Application number
- Payment proof
- Date and time of transaction
Biggest Question: When Will CUET PG 2026 Exam Be Conducted?
Earlier, NTA mentioned that the CUET PG 2026 exam would start in the beginning of March, assuming the form window closed on 14 January.
Now, due to multiple extensions:
- Application window closes effectively around 25–30 January
- This means the process is delayed by almost 15 days
Expected Exam Timeline (Based on Current Situation)
- Exam may start around mid-March 2026 (10–15 March)
- Exams will be conducted for multiple subjects
- The process may continue till end of March or early April
This is not an official date yet, but it is a realistic estimate based on the delay.
What Students Should Do Now?
- If you have not filled the form yet, start immediately
- Do not wait for the last day or last hour
- Complete the form and payment at least 1–2 days early
- Keep checking the official website for updates
- Start exam preparation seriously, as time is limited
January is almost over, and you roughly have 1.5 months left for preparation.
